Funeral services for William Reiter, 81, former Maroa farmer, will be held in the Maroa Christian church at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday with burial in the Maroa cemetery. Friends may call at the Caplinger funeral home in Maroa.
Mr. Reiter, who has lived with his son, Erban, 2035 North Church street, for the past two years, died at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in St. Mary's hospital of complications. He had farmed near Maroa nearly all his life before coming to Decatur. Mr. Reiter was born in LaSalle June 29, 1862, the son of John and Anna Reiter, and married Matilda V. Cramer in June, 1887. Mrs. Reiter died in 1940. He was a member of the Maroa Christian church. He leaves a second son, Earl, of Maroa; two brothers, Frank of Kingman, Kan., and Sam of Morrisonville; a sister, Mrs. Hattie Stafford of Oklahoma City, Okla.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
