"Thomas Hallett, the oldest son of Mrs. Stella Hallett of this place, died in a hospital at New Orleans, La., on Christmas Day. As told in last week's paper, he had been sick there for several days, but was considered on the way to recovery.

His mother was notified on Friday morning and the remains were at once shipped for this place. The casket was expected to reach here yesterday and the funeral was announced to be held this afternoon at the residence of his sister, Mrs. Fred Sherwood of this place. The body arrived this morning on train 7 by way of New York. The transit permit states that death resulted from pneumonia which followed his recovery from typhoid.

Deceased was past twenty-one years old and was a life long resident of Canisteo. During the past year he traveled extensively." The Times-Republican, Canisteo, New York, December 31, 1902
