Connie C. Coleman was born on October 3, 1934, in Ninnekah, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Albert and Ruby Mary (Shuffield) Fatherree. She grew up in Chickasha, Oklahoma, attending Chickasha Public Schools, she moved with her family to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where she graduated from Capitol Hill Public Schools. Following her education she married Elbert LeRoy Coleman and they made their home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She began working for John A. Brown and the Boy Scouts of America. She later began working for Standard Life insurance Company retiring in 1996. Elbert passed away on December 29, 1982, and she continued to make Oklahoma City her home. On October 3, 1987, she met her life companion Burt Berry. She enjoyed playing slot machines, traveling, country music and watching the television show "Gunsmoke".
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one child; and three brothers.
She is survived by one daughter, LeAnn Defibaugh and husband Steve of Tuttle, Oklahoma; one son, Donald Coleman and wife Debbie of Moore, Oklahoma; her lifelong companion Burt Berry of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; four grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, August 24, 2020, in the Little Chapel of the Roses at Resthaven Memory Gardens, with Johnny Wray officiating. Inurnment will follow at a later date in the Resthaven Memory Gardens.
