Johnnie Paul Keeney, age 91, of Somerset, KY, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at Rockcastle Health and Rehab.

Johnnie was born on August 28, 1928 to the late Thomas Walter Keeney and Julia Ann Abbott Keeney. He was a farmer and enjoyed coon hunting. Johnnie was a member of Rush Branch Christian Church.

He is survived by one sister, Elizabeth Keeney Hall; step son, Lester (and Jeanie) Hamm; grandson, Greg (and Theresa) Hamm; granddaughter, Jennifer (and Walter Scott) Trotter; two great grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Hamm and Hunter Allen Hamm; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lena May Mounce Keeney; step daughter, Carolyn Cook; grandson, Christopher Cook; brothers, Clarence Keeney, Harold Keeney, Walter Keeney and Sam Keeney; and sisters, Dorothy Sears and Mable Abbott.

Visitation will be on Thursday, August 27, 2020 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

His funeral service will follow on Thursday at 1:00pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Reverend Jessica Hall officiating. Burial will be Rush Branch Cemetery.
