Novelist and Playwright. Her play, "Whiteoaks," ran in London's West end for almost three seasons in the 1930s. Her play "Jalna" was produced in Europe, Australia and South Africa and in 1935, was filmed in Hollywood starring Ethel Barrymore. The New Play Society in Toronto world-premiered her "Mistress of Jalna" in 1953 and her first book "Jalna," won a $10,000 prize in 1921 with the Atlantic Monthly. In all, she authored 16 novels and three plays on the Whiteoak legends. Never married, Mazo was survived by two adopted children.
