Lola Belle Thompson
Graveside services for Lola Belle Thompson were held Friday, Aug. 21, 2020, in the Niles Cemetery in Hinton with Rev. Bud Hardin officiating. Services were entrusted to Turner Funeral Home of Hinton.
Lola was born Feb. 26, 1937, in Binger to Brice S. and Jewell E. (DeSpain) Warden. She passed away Monday, Aug. 17, 2020, at her home in Calumet at the age of 83. Lola graduated from Hinton High School. She married James Ben (J.B.) Thompson on July 26, 1955, in Clovis, N.M. They lived in California for a short period of time before moving back to Oklahoma. She helped and loved raising her grandkids.
Lola was a member of Calumet Baptist Church.
Survivors include three children, Sherri Sexton of Calumet, Johnny Brice Thompson of Calumet and Lori Spears and husband, Joe of Calumet; seven grandchildren, Jimmy Eaton, Bobby Eaton, Julie Moore, Lana Thompson, Jeana Brown, Tamara Shore and Rachael Hardin; 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild on the way; brother, Michael Warden of Oklahoma City; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Lola was preceded in death by her parents, Brice and Jewell Warden; her husband, J.B. Thompson; four brothers, Roy Wesley, Kenneth, William and Jim Warden; and two sisters, Alta Ferguson and Naomi Bowman.
