James Ben Thompson was born September 20, 1934 in Poteau, Ok to Charley and Lillian (Goines) Thompson. He passed away Monday September 24, 2018 in Yukon, OK at the age of 84. James moved to Hinton in 1953. He lived in Oklahoma City, Ok for 25 years after marrying Lola Warden. He moved to Calumet in August of 1989. James worked for Farmers Union Ins. Co. for 36 years. He loved to fish with his brothers, playing the guitar, and tinkering in his garage. James was a member of the Calumet Baptist Church.

Survivors include: His Wife Lola Thompson of Calumet, OK; three children, Sherri Sexton of Calumet, OK, Johnny Brice Thompson of Calumet, OK, Lori Spears and her husband Joe of Calumet, OK; seven- Grandchildren, Jimmy Eaton, Bobby Eaton, Julie Moore, Lana Thompson, Jeana Brown, Tamara Shore, and Rachael Hardin; 16-Great-Grandchildren; sisters: Shirlene Oliver, Brenda May both of Poteau, OK; brothers, Duane and James Michael Thompson both of Poteau, OK.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charley and Lillian. His sisters: Alley Louise Thompson, Mary Boling, Anna Gross Nicklaus, and Eva Gail Garrett. His Brothers: Charles Thompson, Ronald Thompson, Raymond Thompson, and Charley Thompson, Jr.

The family wants to thank the nurses and staff at Grace Living Center and Dr. Clinton Strong and his staff for taking care of J.B.
