Therese Ann Schroeder, age 92, of Appleton, Wisconsin passed away on August 19, 2020 at Brewster Village, Appleton.
Therese was born on March 4, 1928 in Appleton to the late John and Nellie (Williams) Stoffel.
She was united in marriage to the late John “Jack” McGinnis on May 24, 1952. They enjoyed 35 years together and were blessed with 3 sons: Michael, Patrick and John Jr. After Jack’s passing in 1988,
Therese married the late Carl Schroeder on February 5, 1994. They enjoyed many years together, until Carl’s passing in 2015.
Therese cherished her Catholic faith and was a devoted parishioner of St. Thomas More Catholic Church.
She worked as secretary and a retail clerk until her retirement.
In her spare time Therese enjoyed playing cards, gardening, annual trips to Door County, fishing, bus trips, volunteering at the Salvation Army and visiting the Casino.
Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.
Therese is survived by her son, Michael McGinnis; step-children, Carla (John) Johann, Connie Schroeder and Bill (Lisa) Schroeder; step-grandchildren, Tina, Lindsay and Colin; numerous dear family and friends.
In addition to her husbands, parents and siblings, Therese was preceded in death by her sons, John and Patrick.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Therese at 11 AM on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1810 McDonald St., Appleton, WI. Family and friends may visit at the church from 10 AM to the time of mass. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Appleton.
Social distancing and face masks are required.
