Ray was born in Quinton, Okla., on Jan. 7, 1933. His family relocated to California in 1936.
Ray resided in San Bernardino, then in Calimesa for 84 years. He was proud to have served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Ray worked for General Telephone, serving in the San Bernardino and Redlands areas for 35 years and making many lifelong friends. He retired in 1988.
He is survived by his wife Barbara (Ford) Neal, his three sons, David, Matt and Brad, seven grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren,
