William and Wife Lodema lived in New York until William was age 21, they then moved to Kalamazoo, Mi., where their two children were born. They then moved to Decatur, Mi., in 1864, where his wife Lodema died in the fall of 1864. The Vanderhoof's has told a story that Lodema was killed by a Indian, I have never found proof of this. William married Anne Hoppin in 1865, and had two more children. They lived in Decatur, Van Buren County, MI from 1864 until 1880 when he moved to Madison, South Dakota, remianing there 11 years, returning to Michigan in the fall of 1892, where he died in 1926.
