Victor Anderson, age 98, of Eau Claire died Tuesday at Dove Healthcare Nursing & Rehabilitation.

Victor was born on June 18, 1909, to Olaus and Agnes (Olson) Anderson in Galsbyn, Sweden. In March of 1929, he immigrated to the United States. While working at various farms in the Cadott area, he lived with Joe and Selma Nelson and family. On Oct. 15, 1938, he married Leota Munroe in Cornell. He began working for Uniroyal in 1945, retiring in 1971, and was also a volunteer fireman for 14 years in Cadott. He and Leota moved to Eau Claire in 1958. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Leota; son, Richard Anderson of Chippewa Falls; daughter, Lynn (Riley) Fouser of Eau Claire; grandsons, Michael (Sue) Anderson of Minneapolis and Scott (Angel) Anderson of Wausau; stepgrandson, Scott Fouser of Portland, Ore.; four great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; sister, Gunhild Jeremiasson of Sweden; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Freda, Selma, Valborg and Viola; brother, Martin; and brother-in-law, Gunner Jeremiasson.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 7, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Eau Claire, with the Rev. Steve Rutter officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at church. Interment will be in Brooklawn Cemetery in Cadott.
