Delton was the son of Rev. Rufus, Sr., and Avie Locklear Burns.

Mr. Delton Burns, 73 of 5181 Hwy 74 West Lumberton, NC 28360 was born July 3, 1947 and departed this life on August 8, 2020 completing his journey of 73 years.

Mr. Delton Burns worked at LOF Plant for 41 years. He was an avid golf player and a true fan of UNC Tar-heels. He enjoyed helping out and cooking at Harvest Church to help others. He also took pride in hanging his Christmas lights every year. He will be dearly and truly missed by many.

He is preceded in death by his parents, the late Rufus and Avie Burns; brothers, Rev. O.J Burns, Ernest (Sam) Burns, Grant Burns, Rufus Burns Jr, Rev. Billy Burns, Rev. Joseph Burns and Rev. Bobby Burns; sisters, Maggie Burns and Mary Cleveland.

Mr. Delton Burns leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 51 years, Lou Ellen Burns of the home; two daughters; one son; two brothers; two sisters; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
