Doug was the son of Albert Luther and Bessie Johnson Still. His father is buried in Garden of Memories He married Everett Laniel Peters.

OBITUARY: Palestine (TX) Herald-Press, Wednesday, 5 October 1983:

Funeral services for Douglas Still, 62, of Elkhart, will be at 4 p.m. Thursday in the Hassell & Foster Funeral Home Chapel, Earl Watson and the Rev. Kennith Mobley officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories at Elkhart.

Mr. Still died at 9:47 a.m. Tuesday in the Community Memorial Hospital at Grapeland after a lengthy illness.

Born Sept. 23, 1921, near Garrison, he was a son of the late Albert Luther Still and Bessie Johnson Still. A Baptist, he had resided in Elkhart for the past 18 years and was retired from military service after having been in the Air Force and Army, serving both during World War II and the Korean Conflict.

Survivors include five daughters, Karen J. Bridges of Elkhart, Jeanette Warren of Grapeland, Brenda Kay McQueen of Houston, Rhonda Lynn Collins of Grapeland and Regina Shirley of Elkhart; a brother, John Earl Still of Angleton; four sisters, Mrs. Jettie Allen of Elkhart, Mrs. Jimmie Grubbs of Mt. Enterprise and Mrs. Mary Alice Williams of Sacul; and eight grandchildren.
