Funeral services for Mrs. Grace King, 84, of Emmetsburg, Iowa, were held Feb. 21 at 11 a. m. from United Church of Christ First Congregational Church in Emmetsburg with Rev. John M. Schaeffer officiating. Graveside services were held in the Newell Cemetery with the Sietsema Funeral Home of Emmetsburg in charge of arrangements. Mrs. King was born June 12, 1884 at Sac City the daughter of Herbert and Eleanor Pierce Gordon. When she was four years old she moved with her parents to Newell, where she lived most of the rest of her life. Her husband, Earl C. King preceded her in death in 1943. She passed on Feb. 19 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Edward Holst, in Emmetsburg with whom she had made her home for the past eleven years. Mrs. King was a member of the First Congregational Church at Newell. She leaves to mourn her passing three daughters and sons-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Holst of Emmetsburg, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Rystad of Alameda, California and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Knutson of Cedar Falls; also seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, two nieces, two nephews, and their families.
