Graveside services for Rita Bell 74, of Lubbock will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday August 18, 2020 at the City of Lubbock Cemetery, pastored by Nathan Griggs. The Lord needed another angel and called Rita home on Saturday, August 8, 2020.

Rita was born on October 24, 1945 in Abilene, Texas to Eugene and Floy Coker. She was raised in Stamford. In 1963 Rita married Lloyd Sherman. Shortly after her daughter Renee was born in 1964, the couple split, and Rita and Renee moved to Lubbock. Rita went on to graduate from South Plains college and became an office manager for Mervyns.

Rita then married Ronald Bell and they started their own trucking company. Rita helped with the booking loads, office work and was the bookkeeper. After retiring, she enjoyed being a grandmother. Rita was a Christian who enjoyed bible studies which consisted of reading and learning new things each day.

Survivors include her daughter, Renee and husband James Willis; brother, David Coker and wife Marsha; sister, Linda Graves; sister in law, Sue Cooker; grandchildren, Natasha Paredez and husband Jacob, Tameca Griggs and husband Nathan, Eric Urritia and wife Mildred, Derek Urritia and wife Shanna, Ashley Urritia and Mike; eleven great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
