Edwin "Al" Louis Bowe, 89, of Nixon, Texas, passed away Monday, August 3, 2020.

Al was born February 20, 1931, in Happy, Texas to Harold and Lola Bowe. He married Fay F. Cox on February 18, 1950 in Seattle, Washington. He served his country proudly and was a Navy veteran retiring after 23 years of service with a rank of Senior Chief. He then became a contractor and later a tree farmer. He was also a free Mason.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Lola Bowe; wife, Fay F. Bowe; and son, Bruce Allen Bowe.

Al is survived by his daughters, Susan Bowe Horner of Nixon, Janet M. Bowe of Nixon and Cindy L. McCann (Jeff) of Clovis, California; grandchildren, Christopher Horner (Amanda), Matthew Horner, Justin Horner (Daphne), Jennifer Speanburg (Kit), Michael McCann (Erika) and Keith McCann (LeeAnn); and great-grandchildren, Penelope, Julianne, Jacqueline, Christina, Christopher, Audrey, Jack, Violet, Molly and Reagan.

Visitation will be held from 12 to 1 p.m. on Monday, August 10, 2020, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home Chapel with the funeral service at 1 o’clock officiated by Roy Collins. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Beeville, Texas.

Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society.
