It is with much sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Sophie on September 14, 2016.
Please join Sophie's family for a celebration of her life on Friday September 23, 2016 at Holy Rosary Church 510 River Avenue. Viewing commences at 10:15am followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00 am.
She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her son daughter in law, her six grandchildren, and her eight great grandchildren.
Sophie was predeceased by her son Roger and loving husband Louis of 42 years. She was also predeceased by parents Auguste and Marie Louise Bosc and sisters Alice, Cecile, Gabrielle and brother Albert.
Sophie was born on October 13, 1925 in St. Claude, Manitoba where she dwelled on her parents' farm and attended Bell School. Sophie met Louis and they married November 20, 1945. They later moved their family to Winnipeg, which became home.
Many of her happiest moments were with her family for whom she made many meals and was delighted to prepare our favorite recipes. She was so proud and felt so blessed with each of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and was always sure to introduce each of us to all her friends. Sophie developed many friendships over the years through the numerous affiliations she was involved with such as the Legion, Ladies Auxiliary, bowling Leagues, bingo groups, and many more. Every day she participated in an activity, whether it was bowling, bingo , cribbage, darts, whist ,shuffleboard, or spending time watching curling but she would always choose playing a game or building a puzzle with one of her grandchildren over any of her favorite past times. Sophie felt fortunate for her travels and was grateful for the many places she was able to visit including road trips with her husband, to France and the East coast with Tante Jeanne, to Las Vegas with Michele and Ken and family trips with Denis.
Sophie lit up a room with her warm tender smile and everyone would gravitate to her. She had a deep faith and emitted Christ's love to those around her.
You will forever be loved Memere. Thank you.
