Daughter of Buckner Harris Ledbetter and Susanna C. Jackson. On November 5, 1879, she married WIlliam Hugh McDougald in Kaufman County. To this union five children were born. George Henry, Cullen, Nepsy, Archie P. and Sarah E. In January of 1890, Winnie became ill, was dying. She pleaded with her sister, Sarah Elizabeth Ledbetter Allen to marry William and raise her children. Winnie died on January 6, 1890. On June 1, 1890, Sarah married William. A marriage that lasted over 50 years.
