A native of Saluda, she was the daughter of the late Wade Hampton Middleton and Maggie Mae Pace Middleton and widow of John E. Rhodes who passed away in 2012. Mrs. Rhodes worked for Diamond Brand as a tent inspector. She was a member of Saluda First Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Press Middleton and Furman Middleton; a sister, Louise M. Thompson; a son-in-law, Steve Heaton.
Surviving are two daughters, three grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
