In 1860 Joseph 71, Betsy 69 and Mary 33 lived on their farm in Magnolia IL. They were all born in Kentucky.

Died in Magnolia township, December 29, Joseph Ash, aged about 85, an old settler.

Joseph Ash, another pioneer settler, died at good old age in Magnolia township last week. He was father of Mrs. Emery Bacon, Mrs. Lawrence Lippert and Isaac Ash of Chicago. He was a good citizen and widely respected.
