A memorial service for Jerome will be at 11:00AM Wednesday April 12, 2017 at the Shuda Funeral Home – Stevens Point. Friends and family will gather from 9:00-10:45AM at the funeral home to share memories prior to the service. A private family burial will be at later time.
Jerome was born to Edward and Eugenia (Isador) Dobbe on April 9, 1936 in Rosholt where he attended local schools. He graduated high school in 1954. After graduating, Jerome enlisted in the Navy where he served our country for 4 years until he was honorably discharged. After enlistment, Jerome worked at Kroger foods in Milwaukee where he met the love of his life Joyce (Bucholtz). Jerome and Joyce were married at St. Leo's Church in Milwaukee and later resided in Rosholt.
Together they owned a local grocery store until they opened Dobbe's Meat market where he worked until retirement. Jerome always stayed busy, during his retirement he did logging, worked at Piggly Wiggly as a meat cutter and later worked at Shulfer's Garden Center. Jerome was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved to work in his vegetable and flower gardens.
Jerome is survived by his son: Mark (Kay) Dobbe, Plover; his daughter: Nadine (Mark) Rusch, Stevens Point; his 3 brothers: Herbert (Helen) Dobbe, Eugene (Shirley) Dobbe, John (Aileen) Dobbe, and sister Kay (Lloyd) Stankowski.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife Joyce.
