Obituary
Laura Anne Myers (Anna Laura Myers), daughter of Joseph and Nancy Myers, was born in Roney Point, West Virginia, July 21st, 1873, and died at Little River, Kansas, August 11, 1928. She came to Kansas with her parents in 1875, settling in Rice county, where she has resided the major portion of her life. On November 11, 1892, she was united in marriage to M D (Morton David) Manwarren, living a few years in Osage County. To this union were born twelve children, the eldest of them, Mable, preceded her mother in death in the year 1918, of the other children there are Orville of Sterling, Eleanor Miller of Geneseo, Ethel McClure of Liberal, Roy of Frederick, Carl of Mitchell, Adrian of Frederick, Dora Bundy of Council Grove, Weldon, Alice, Alva and Isla of Geneseo.
There are 12 grandchildren, four of which she has reared in her home since the death of their mother, Mabel McNett. There are three brothers, Charles, Andrew and Oscar, three sisters, Letta Sockwell of Raymondville, Texas, Emma Manwarren of Lyons, Gertrude Miller of Plainview, Texas.
She was a member of the Methodist Church at Mitchell, having joined the Methodist church at Geneseo in 1879, later transferring to the U B Church in Osage county in 1895, and then at Mitchell in 1924.
Mrs Manwarren was a hard working woman ready to deny herself that those about her might have the comforts of life. Her faith, her longings, were for the life of a Christian, her hope was the Savior, her comfort and strength was the Lord. Her going out into the other world was a tesitmony of the hope within her. The husband, children and grandchildren have the sympathy of the entire community.
