The thirtieth wedding anniversary of Mr and Mrs H A Manwarren will be celebrated with an open house from 2 to 5 pm next Sunday, October 19, in their home near Frederick. Assisting as hosts will be their children, Mr and Mrs Roger Colberg of near Lyons, and Mr and Mrs Howard Manwarren of Bethany, Oklahoma.
Friends and relatives are cordially invited to help them celebrate the occasion.
Harold A Manwarren, retired farmer and Lyons resident since 1928, died today in the Good Samaritan Center at the age of 83.
Born December 15, 1903, in Geneseo, he married Myrtle Kitchen on October 16, 1928, in Ellsworth. She died July 14, 1962. He married Arvilla Watkins in December, 1962, in Hutchinson. She died May 2, 1984.
Manwarren was a member of the Westside Baptist Church in Hutchinson. He is survived by a son, Howard, of Bethany, Oklahoma; a daughter, Evangeline Colberg of Lyons; a stepson, William Watkins of Tulsa; two stepdaughters, Carol Watkins, of Wichita, and Alice Buckman, of Hutchinson; a brother, Weldon Manwarren of Sterling; three sisters, Ethel McClure of Elkhart, Alice Hubbard of Lyons and Isla Youngdahl of Marquette; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers, Orville, Roy, Carl and Alva, and by sisters Mable McNett, Eleanor Miller and Dora Bundy.
The Rev Jim C Burns will conduct a funeral at 2 pm Friday at Sillin Funeral Home in Lyons. Burial will be in the Lyons Municipal Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 until 8 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial funds have been started for Westside Baptist Church of Hutchinson and the Lyons Good Samaritan Center.
