Linda, who went by Lawan or “Wannie” to family, was born on August 10, 1950 in Wilson, Oklahoma. She was the youngest of four children born to Robert “Tot” and Lois (Sanders) Finley. Lawan became a licensed cosmetologist after graduating high school in May of 1968. On July 6, 1968 she married her high school sweetheart, Paul Edward Shepard. They were married 52 years. Together they raised two sons, Bryan and Jeffrey, and one daughter, Lisa.
After high school, Lawan worked at the beauty salon in her hometown of Healdton, Ok. When her husband, Paul, joined the Air Force she began working in salons on base until she opened her own beauty shop in Oklahoma City in the fall of 1976. In 1978 she and her growing family moved to Harrah, Ok where she lived the remainder of her life. Lawan enjoyed reading, sewing, crafts, and definitely loved to shop. She found joy in gardening and cooking; she was a wonderful cook.
Lawan was preceded in death by her father, Robert; her mother, Lois; her son, Bryan; and brother Winford. She is survived by her husband, Paul; son, Jeffrey, his wife Toni and their son, Blake; daughter, Lisa, her husband Spencer and their son, Gavin; and her sisters, Wendoyln and Delta.
