On July 30, 2020 at 3:53 PM, our very beautiful, special, brave little girl gained her angel wings. Sara Alice McCullough, born on March 24, 2007, was 13 years old and passed so peacefully away in the loving arms of her mother and her great Aunt, surrounded by her grandparents, step-dad and a few caring members of staff at Children’s Hospital. Sara was brave beyond compare to all she endured in her little life. Sara beat all the odds and surpassed her life expectancy by 10 years. She had many good days full of smiles. Sara warmed many hearts and was loved beyond words. Her bright eyes, animation, and coos lit up the room. Her spirit, brave determination and fight shined through to the very end. There are no words to express such great loss and heartache. However, Sara’s spirit will always live on. She is survived by her adoring mother, Keely and very loving step-father Joe (Poppa), her grandparents, Larry and Sharron Schaefer and Eileen Poppa, and step-sister Julia Poppa along with her great Aunt Patty who sat by her side many times and was with her at the end, many other uncles, aunts and cousins. Visitation Sunday 1 PM until the time of service at 5 PM at Copeland’s Sewickley, 702 Beaver St. Rev. Barry Lewis will officiate.
