Funeral services for Edith Searcy,Troup, will be 2:00 pm, Monday, April 14, 2014, at Concord Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with Reverends Mark Davenport and Duane Doughterty officiating. Burial will be in the Griffin Cemetery.
Mrs. Searcy died Thursday, April 10, 2014 in Henderson . She was born January 8, 1925, in Saginaw, Michigan to the late James Bird and Evie Moose Bird.
Mrs. Searcy was a member of the Concord Cumberland Presbyterian Church for 60 years, a homemaker, Sunday School teacher and deacon of her church.
She was preceded in death by her spouse William "Bill" Searcy, brothers James Bird and Charles Bird, sister, Florence Wells, daughter-in-law, Kathy Searcy and son-in-law, Bob Wooten.
Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, William James Searcy, Good Springs, Larry Joe and Anna Searcy, Good Springs; daughters and sons-in-law, Jan and Rex Bramlett, Karnack, Sandy and Tim Mager, Concord, Betty Newton, Concord, Judy and Dewayne Combs, Troup; brothers and sisters-in-law, Don Lee and Pat Bird, McComb, MS, Richard and Joy Bird, New Summerfield; sister, Ruth Martin, Jacksonville; 14 grandchildren, Walter Wooten, Brad Mager, Brandi Hassell, David and Paul Blassingame, Misti Bauman, Cari Searcy, Jeff Searcy, James Searcy, Becky Smith, Erica Covey, Cody Combs and Haley Combs, 31 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 13, 2014 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
