"Charles Brigham of Spencerport received a telegram Saturday stating that his son, William A. Brigham, of West Superior, Wis., was critically ill with pneumonia. This was followed by another message yesterday morning, announcing Mr. Brigham's death. Mr. Brigham was well known in Spencerport, having formerly been in the grocery business in that village, and was also postmaster in 1890, which position he resigned at the time he went West. The remains will be taken home for burial." (Rochester Democrat and Chronicle, 23 April 1900)
