Jerry Curry was born to Thomas and Ella Curry, December 17, 1943, in Lubbock, Texas. He graduated from Levelland High School and earned a bachelor's of science in music in 1967 from West Texas State in Canyon, Texas.
He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1968 and served during the Vietnam War. Mr. Curry was awarded with a Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, a Purple Heart, a Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and an Army Commendation Medal. He was honorably discharged as First Lieutenant in 1971.
After serving his country, Jerry moved to Perryton, Texas, where he was high school choir director. He moved from there and served as choir director for Brownfield Texas High School. In 1976, he moved to San Antonio, Texas, where he worked for Cherrydale Farms, Inc. as a salesperson until his death. Mr. Curry was a Baptist and active in Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
On December 22, 1968, he married Barbara Zinser. She preceded him in death on Feb. 11, 2003.
Jerry is survived by his mother, Ella Mae Dever; stepsister, Elizabeth Ezzell and husband Roger; and seven nephews and nieces.
