Mary Ann Carder was born in Otsego, New York, on 31 October, 1806 to Joseph and Mary Dixon Carder. She married Thomas Seamans in 1823. Mary Ann and Thomas were the parents of 6 children: Henry, George Dennison, William Lewis, Marietta, Eliza Jane, Sarah Ann and Adelia Marie Seamans.
Daughter Eliza Jane's death certificate has her mother born in New York.
Mary Ann Carder, who married Thomas Seamans, was mentioned in the Carder Letters. The letters were sent out beginning in 1906, to locate the descendants of Hannah Carver Carder. The descendants were to have shares in the estate of Henry Wood Lothrop, who's grandmother, Eunice Carder Thornton, was the sister of Hannah Carver Carder.
Descendants each received a final share of 1/3360th of the Carder branch portion.
Taken from correspondence between Adam P. Carroll and Mary D. Carder, daughter of Rev. James Dixon Carder. James was the brother of Mary Ann.
