Actress. Hovey was one of four Hoosiers to be named a "Wampus Baby Star." (Western Association of Motion Picture Advertisers). Hovey appeared in at least 15 movies from 1933 to 1938. She debuted in "The Kid from Spain" (1932) with Eddie Cantor and Ruth Hall and later she was a chorus girl in "42nd Street" (1933). In this period, Hovey also played in "Gold Diggers of 1933," "Kiss and Make Up," "Young and Beautiful," "Circus Shadows" and "Behind the Headlines" (1936). The following year Ann Hovey was signed to RKO Studios where she rode the range in the B-Western "Glory Trail." She remained at RKO for the next four years, appearing in "On Again, Off Again" (1937), "Super-Sleuth"(1938) and "Flirting with Fate" (1938), this was her last movie. When she married press agent Robert Husey, she left the cinema. On learning during the mid-1990s that she was being sort after by fans of her old films Ann Hovey said, "I'm surprised. I never thought I was any good."
