Burnham Sisk, 76, Died Thursday
Burnham McCall Sisk, 76, died at 11:40 o'clock Thursday morning at the Excelsior Springs hospital. He was brought to the hospital several weeks ago and was later dismissed and was taken to the home of his nephew, Elton Sisk, Henrietta, Mo. He was sent back to the hospital early Thursday morning. Death was attributed to heart and complications.
Mr. Sisk was born October 29, 1876 in Montgomery county, Missouri, a son of William Y. and Mary (Smith) Sisk of Kentucky. He was married to Lula Suggett of Montgomery City who preceded him in death.
He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Robert Goetz of Los Angeles, Calif.; the nephew, Mr. Sisk and two nieces, Mrs. Robert Snowden and Mrs. E. E. Gay both of Richmond.
The funeral will be at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church, Montgomery City.

Burnam McCall Sisk was born near High Hill, Missouri, October 29, 1876 and passed away in Excelsior Springs Hospital in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, April 9, 1953, at the age of 77 1/2 years. He was one of five children born to William and Mary Smith Sisk, all of whom have preceded him in death with the exception of one sister, Mrs. Robert Goetz of Los Angeles, California.
He received his early education in a country school near High Hill, Missouri; and later graduated from the Montgomery City High School. His entire life was spent in Montgomery County, Missouri, where he was active in business in Montgomery City up until a very short time before his death. He was known as one of the leading financiers of this part of the country.
On November 20, 1932 he was united in marriage to Miss Lula Bush Suggett, who preceded him in death seven years ago.
Besides his sister he is survived by numerous relatives and friends, two nephews and three nieces: Arthur Griffeth of Carlsbad, New Mexico; Elton Sisk of Henrietta, Missouri; Patty Sisk Gay and Blanch Sisk Snowden of Richmond, Missouri; and Virginia Best Nigh of Hollywood, California.
The body lay in state at Schlanker Funeral Home until Sunday afternoon, when last rites were held in the Methodist Church at Montgomery City conducted by the Rev. E. R. Slovensky and burial in Montgomery City Cemetery - Schlanker Service. Although "B. M." as he was known to his friends, was not a member of this church, he was more loyal than some of its members, making generous donations when he was told that the budget needed balancing - and attending its services whenever he was able to do so.
