Services Monday at Shawnee Chapel for Jesse Abel

Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Gaskill Funeral Home Chapel in Shawnee for Jesse E. Abel, 51, who died Friday after a heart attack about 8 p.m. at his home six miles northwest of Seminole on Highway 270.

Mr. Abel is survived by his wife, Della, of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Maxine Moore, Springfield, Mo.; three sons, Adrian, Oran K. and Jesse C., Jr., all of Shawnee; four brothers, Tyler Abel, Shawnee, Cass of Oklahoma City, Edgar, Albuquerque, N. M.; and Eph, of Oglesby, Tex.; two sisters, Miss Betty Abel, Shawnee, and Mrs. Lillian Sugg, Waco, Tex., and 11 grandchildren.

Mr. Abel was born April 27, 1905 in McGregory, Tex. He was reared in McGregor and came to Pottawatomie County in 1918. He had been employed by Harps Green Valley Farms at Shawnee for the past six years.

Bearers will include six nephews, Milo Foreman, Jimmie Ferguson, Hassel Abel, Jackie Barnes, Eddie, Barnes, and Donald Barnes.

Honorary bearers will include Eldon Whittern, Huey Herrin, Otto Oliver, Hershel Harris, Claude Hays, Clarence Evans and Jack Hall.
