AUGUSTA, Ga. - Entered into rest Monday, May 7, 2007, Mrs. Thelma Rush Gay, 87, wife of the late A.M. Gay, Jr. Mrs. Gay was a native and lifelong resident of Augusta. She was a homemaker and member of St. Mark United Methodist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Family members include her daughter, Susan G. Trammell of Augusta; sons, Doy Matthew Gay, Sr. of Augusta, Tom Gay of Evans; grandchildren, Laura G. Westover, Cindy G. Hill, Matthew Gay, Trey Trammell, Mary Stewart, Lowery T. Gay, Jr., Suzanne G. Powell; 12 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews, LaVerne Hughes, Kenneth Hughes, Theodore Rush, and Robert Rush. Graveside services will be held Friday, May 11, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in Westover Memorial Park with Rev. Gerald Varner officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the residence of the daughter, Susan G. Trammell, 267 W Vineland Rd., Augusta.
