MOORE, Robert, Sr. - Born in 1732 in (Lancaster Co.) York Co., PA. Died in 1805 in Adams (now Brown Co.) He was apointed Collector 1775-76 for Bedford Co., Pa. in Capt. Richard Brown's Co., Col Samuel Miles' 1st Bn. of Pa. Riflemen. He wa inthe battle of Long Island, August 27, 1776. William Moore (probably his son) was among the missing after this battle. On December 10, 1777, soldier was appointed Court Martial Man in Capt. Thomas Buck's Co., Col. William Parker's Regt. of Pa. Militia. (Ref: Pa.
