Harriett was born about 1832/32 in ___________, Ohio the daughter of Thompson Peet and Diana (Lefever) Peet. Thompson was born about 1798 in New York, while Diana was born about 1807 in Pennsylvania. The Peets came to Illinois about 1836, where they settled in Akron Township in Peoria County, near Princeville, Illinois. There Thompson farmed and ran a saw mill along with his brother, Erastus, near Princeville. Harriett had a brother named James Burk Peet, who later would serve as a Lieutenant in Co.
