“Bob” was a 1955 graduate of Archie G. Richardson High School and he was honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1967. While serving in the Army, Bob completed Advanced Individual Military Police training at Fort Gordon, Georgia in 1962. After returning from the Army, George worked for Stone and Webster, Louisa County Public Schools, and retired from Tradewinds. Bob loved hunting and spending time with family. George was a member of Louisa Temple Lodge 113.
During the pastoral leadership of Reverend John L. Tyler, George was baptized and joined the Rising Sun Baptist Church. On October 9, 1970 he joined in holy matrimony to Fannie Houchens Shelton and this union was blessed with five children.
George was preceded in earthly death by his parent, Deacon Jordan and Bertha Shelton; brothers: Oscar Shelton, Wilson Shelton, and John Shelton; and his sisters: Alice Mae Shelton, Brenda Shelton, and Isabelle Mickens.
