Linda Ann May, 80, from McGehee went to be with our Lord on July 18, 2020 at UAMS in Little Rock, AR from injuries sustained in a car accident.

Linda was born in Atkins, AR on September 14, 1939 to the late Edgar and Georgia Reel and grew up in Little Rock. She traveled all over the nation with her best friends before meeting her beloved husband and marrying him on July 12, 1969. They soon after moved to McGehee where they made their home for the last 51 years. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of McGehee and sang in the choir praising God with her beautiful, angelic voice. She also had a special love for her Sunday School class. She was a member of the McGehee Chamber of Commerce and was involved with planning the McGehee Industrial Foundation banquets. She worked at McGehee Bank for 22 years and McGehee Family Clinic for 22 years. Her warm smile and friendly personality greeted the patrons of McGehee for over half a century. She became the First Lady of McGehee when her husband was elected Mayor and served with him in that capacity for 8 years and then again as he served as Desha County Judge for 2 years.

She is survived by her husband, Jack May of McGehee and daughters, Heather (Dale) Williams of Springdale, AR and Holly (Daniel) Ardoin of Greenbrier, AR; two grandchildren, Andrew and Reagan Williams of Greenbrier, AR; two "Bonus" granddaughters, Abby (Jonathon) Weatherford of Russellville, AR and Tabby Ardoin of Greenbrier, AR and four "bonus" great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Bubbus of Russellville, AR and Edalyene Bryant of Mulberry, AR; one brother, Carrol (Joyce) Reel of Lufkin, TX; two sisters-in-law, Betty Reel of Russellville and Jill Lawhon of Little Rock.
