Heabert B. Wood
ALEXANDRIA — Heabert B. Wood, 87, reached the top of the mountain and has gone home to be with his Lord.
He died Sept. 16, 2000, at St. John’s Hospital in Anderson following an extended illness.
He was born Sept. 15, 1913, in Summitville and was a Madison County resident all of his life.
He owned Industrial Metal Craft of Anderson and retired in 1970. Prior to that, he was employed by G. & G. Machine and with the Anderson Community Schools Corp. He was a member of the Vermillion Christian Church. He loved to raise exotic animals.
Survivors are his wife, Mabel (Adams) Wood; two daughters, Marilyn Moore and Eleanor Heaven, both of Alexandria; his brother, James (wife, Barbara) Wood of Fort Wayne; his sister, Geraldine Bright of Anderson; seven grandchildren including Marty D. Rotter and special friend, Elizabeth Carpenter, Roxanna K. (husband, Paul) Schott, David E. Moore, Timothy D. Moore and special friend, Karen Murdock; several great-grandchildren; and a special little friend, Nick.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Wood; a daughter, Barbara Ann Wood; a son-in-law, Jack Heaven; and several brothers and sisters.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service, 229 S. Range-line Road, Anderson. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Alexandria. Visitation hours are from 4 to 8 p m Monday at the funeral home, Memorial contributions may be made to the Muncie Eye Center — Research for Dr. Hodkin.
