Robert C. (Bob) Blevins, age 81 of Cedar Bluff, Virginia, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2007 in a Richlands, Virginia hospital following a lengthy illness. Born November 10, 1925 in Banner, Virginia he was the son of the late Walter and Mary McClellon Blevins. He was retired coal miner for Jewell Ridge Coal Corporation and was a member of Richlands Masonic Lodge #318. He attended Westfork Presbyterian Church.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ann Shortridge Blevins; one brother, Paul Blevins, three sisters and three half brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Damron Blevins; two daughters, Robin Absher and husband Jimmy of Carterville, IL and Sandy Horn and husband Wayne of Patterson; two step sons, Richard Damron and wife Jenny of Richmond and LTC Danny Damron U.S. Army Retired and wife Sharon of Bristol, TN; two sisters, Bertha Milton of Bristol, VA and Jean Perrie and husband John of Westbrook, CT; three grandchildren, Ben Absher, Stephanie Howell and husband Chris and Whitney Horn; 7 step grandchildren and 7 step great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 19, 2007 at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel at Cedar Bluff, Virginia with Dr. Terry Morris officiating. Entombment will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum at Claypool Hill, Virginia.
