James C. Andre

James Clinton Andre, 62, of Lyra, died suddenly at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the home of a sister, Mrs. Will Emory of Pike County of a heart attack. Mr. Andre had not been well for quite some time, but his condition was not considered serious.

He was born at Clinton Furnace, Vernon Township, a son of Peter and Mary Hudson Andre. He had lived most of his life in that vicinity and was a farmer. On Oct 15, 1899, he was married to Miss Emma Sheppard.

Surviving are his wife and these children; Clifford Andre of Wheelersburg, route 1, Mrs. George Brown, Edwin and Edgar Andre, Mrs. Riley Haney and Miss Eliza Andre, all of Lyra. A son, George, died in infancy.

He also leaves two other sisters and two brothers; Jack Andre of Lyra, Clarence Andre of Pike County, Mrs. Carrie Hammerstine and Mrs. Lily Wheeler of Lyra.

Funeral services will be held at the Antioch church in Lyra at 2 p.m. Sunday, with the Rev. John Kemper in charge. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery under the direction of Erwin.
