Helen Elizabeth Mullin was born in Gouverneur NY while her family was living on the road between Rossie and Brasie Corners. She was the the fifth of the eight children of Dan and Ada Washburn Mullin. She married Richard Vern Johnston on April 5, 1947 in Brasie Corners and together they raised three children. Helen worked for many years at Kinney Drugs in Gouverneur. She was a great wife, mom, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was a great cook and was always bringing me cookies when she came to visit at the lake. In her later years, I loved seeing pictures of her baking with her great grandchildren, passing on the skill to the younger generation. I will miss you Aunt Helen!
