Terry Lee Gardner, 69, of Pocatello passed away suddenly at home peacefully on July 7, 2020.

Terry was born in Blackfoot Idaho, on Dec. 13th 1950 as a twin son to Betty Jean and Wendel W. Gardner. He was the oldest of eight children. He dearly loved his grandparents Joseph Samuel and Ruth Gardner who cared for him in his youth.

Terry and Deborah Lynn Palmer married in the Idaho Falls Temple on June 6, 1969 and had two children. Ruth Ann, and Joseph Stephen.

Terry graduated from Idaho State University in Electronics and Computer Science, and went on to work as a FAB/Gas Line/Electrical Project Engineer for microchip manufacturing at American Microsystems Incorparated from 1970-2001. He also worked with the Idaho National Labs, and the AMWTP subcontractors as a project engineer processing nuclear waste from 2002 until he retired in 2012 .

Terry loved every type of animal and found joy especially with dogs, cats, and chickens. He took special pride in showing dogs with Deborah resulting in multiple championship dogs. Terry was inducted into the American Kennel Club hall of fame as top miniature poodle breeder three times. He was also very active in the Boy Scouts of America leadership and was awarded the Silver Beaver for his service. He served on staff for the national Scouting Jaboree several times. He was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in many leadership positions, especially with the youth.

Terry was proceeded in death by his parents Wendel and Betty, his daughter Ruth Ann, and his brothers Berry and Paul. Terry is survived by Deborah, his son Joseph, his grandchildren Alicia, Anthony, and Samuel. His siblings Pam, Mike, Jay, Jeff Gardner and Beth-Ann Winchell. Terry, we will cherish your memory and you will be deeply missed by many.

A graveside service will be held in his honor at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2020 at Grove City Cemetery, 1 Willow Drive Blackfoot, Idaho.
