Joseph "Jim" Doyle, age 77 of Galena died Friday, August 3, 2007 at home.

He was born on November 13, 1929 in Cleveland to the late Joseph and Ethel (Collingwood) Doyle. Jim was a US Marine Corps veteran of the Korean Conflict and worked as a crane operator for Republic Steel. He served as the circulation manager for Catholic Universe Bulletin, worked in administration with Vlcheck Tool and Ingersoll Rand, and retired in 1998 as manager of the Carter Lumber Distribution Center in Condit.

A servant and active member at St. John Neumann Church, he served as the president of the Holy Name society and religious education director of the St. Peter and Paul Church in Cleveland.

From a family of railroaders he held a fascination with trains. A history buff of the Civil War, he enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, and raising big beef tomatoes and zucchini. A proud builder, always honorable, he was dedicated to his faith and family.
