Jackie N. Mitchell, 95, of Canton, passed away peacefully July 13, 2020 at the Azalea Trails Nursing Center in Grand Saline, TX. She was born Nov. 4, 1924 in Martins Mill, TX to the late Gafford and Ethel Lovvorn.

Jackie was a homemaker, avid reader and delighted in her grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She was married 63 years to the late D.D. Mitchell, the former Vocational Agriculture teacher at Canton High School for 35 years.

She is survived by son Gerald Mitchell and wife, Brenda, of Canton, daughter Gwen Mitchell Johnston and husband, John, of Houston. Grandchildren Shannon Gale of Lake City, FL, Jill Evert of Lake City, FL, Holly Moffett of Boerne, TX, Scott Wallace of Bulverde, TX, Adam Tolar of Rockwall, TX, and Rodney Tolar of Farmersville, TX.

She was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Canton. A private graveside service was held at Holly Springs Cemetery in Martins Mill, TX.
