She was born the daughter of the late Florence (Burgoyne) and Raymond LeClair.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband Robert H Carter, brothers, Robert LeClair and Donald LeClair, sisters, Marie Rascoe and Anne Gromoski, her sons, Alan Carter and Timothy Carter, and grandson Michael Carter.
She is survived by her sister, Janet Uhler of Plattsburgh; her brother and sisters-in-law Francis and Mary (Wilson) Carter of Saranac, Gloria Carter of Altmar, NY, and Margaret LeClair of Saranac, NY. Her children; Robert and Nancy (Herron) Carter, Richard and Nancy (Thomas) Carter, Frederic and Louise (Carter) Fogg, WIlliam and Darlene (Carter) Liberty, Diane Carter and fiancée Michael Yasment; 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter
