He was born the son of George and Mildred (Lucia) Carter, Jr.
Survivors include his wife, the former Lucile LeClair of Saranac; three sons, Robert, Richard and Timothy; three daughters, Mrs. Fred (Louise) Fogg, Mrs. William (Darlene) Liberty and Diane Carter; four brothers, Eugene Carter of Cadyville, Leward Carter of Mebane, NC, James Carter of Altmar and Francis Carter of Saranac; three sisters, Shirley Carter of Saranac, Mrs. Roger Jacqueline) Wright of Peru and Nancy Thomas of Liverpool; 15 grandchildren.
A son, Alan Carter, died in 1985 and a sister, Mrs. Carl (Patricia) Bull, died in 1991.
