Abelardo Acevedo passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2020, at the age of 63.  He was a loving and caring husband, father, son, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Abelardo was a dedicated father and son who loved his family and adored his grandchildren.  He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, loved Moody Trojan Baseball, and was a big fan of the Houston Astros, and had a soft spot for the New York Yankees.  Abelardo will be deeply missed by all whom knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his father, Baltazar Acevedo.

Among those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Acevedo; children, Abel Acevedo, Elijah (Laura) Acevedo, Adriel Acevedo, and Brittany (Josh Herald) Acevedo; mother, Francisca Acevedo, brothers, Baltazar (Suzanne) Acevedo, Vidal (Elizabeth) Acevedo, and Phillip (Carmen) Acevedo; sisters, Berta (Manuel) Sosa Tina (Jesse Gonzalez) Acevedo, Alice (Fidel) Yturia, Martha Acevedo, and Eva (Kevin) Hild; granddaughters, Aylssa Acevedo and Ella Blue Acevedo; grandsons, Zackary Watson, Myles Watson, and Dallas Blue Acevedo; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive condolences on Thursday, July 16, 2020, at Treviño Funeral Home, 3006 Niagara St. @ Port, from 5 PM to 9 PM; with a Prayer Service to begin at 7 PM.  A Chapel Service will take place on Friday, July 17, 2020, at 9 AM at Treviño Funeral Home.  A Funeral cortege will depart the funeral home at 9:30 AM to Rose Hill Memorial Park for Rite of Committal and Interment at 10:00 AM.

Trevino Funeral Home requires anyone attending funeral services wear a face mask due to the current pandemic.
