Lee was born May 31, 1938 in Chinook, Montana to Ralph and Abigail (Walker) Anderson. The youngest of 5 children Lee was raised on the Anderson dairy farm East of Havre. He attended schools in Havre graduating with the class of 1956. In 1957 Lee attended The Encampment for Citizenship in New York City. This was an honor to be accepted to this event. Lee then attended Northern Montana College in Havre for a year.
He married Evelyn May Kuhn April 28, 1958 and then went to work for Vita Rich Dairy. Of this union three children were born, Timothy, Thomas, and Tina. As a family they showed horses throughout Montana, Southern Canada and across the United States. Lee achieved great success while showing horses and was rated in the top 10 for his showmanship in the United States. He always commented that his children were brought up on horses and were very accomplished show people.
The Anderson family sold Vita Rich Diary in 1977 and Lee developed Pacific Junction Tracts west of Havre. Lee then went to work in Highway Construction for Prince Inc. out of Forsythe, Montana. Because that work was seasonal he and Evelyn would winter in Arizona with their FMCA (Family Motor Coach Association) They enjoyed this time and made many friends. They would attend the Albuquerque, New Mexico Hot Air Balloon Festival volunteering their time to help with their FMCA group. He and Evelyn were also members of the Blue Horizon Camp Club and the Saddle Club, donating a lot of time to both organizations.
Lee loved his family and enjoyed the time they spent together on their road trips, showing horses, camping, riding motorcycles and even just being at home attending all of their activities. He finally retired from Prince Inc. when he was 75.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters Vera Woodward and Alva Stewart; Two brothers Harvey and Ralph Anderson.
Lee is survived by his wife Evelyn Anderson. Two sons: Tim Anderson and Tom (Tammy) Anderson all of Kalispell, Montana. One daughter Tina (Allan) Rabbitt of Great Falls, Montana. 6 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren.
