She was married to Soren Eskesen Feb. 24, 1890 at Palmer, la. They engaged in farming around Pomeroy, Iowa for several years and in 1908 moved to Newell, Iowa, where they lived on their acreage for about 30 years. She spent the rest of her life in the South and West on account of her health, two winters in Houston, Texas, one winter in Florida, and the rest in Arizona Her only immediate relative is her son, Stanley, who so tenderly took care of her until the end. She and her husband raised two other children: J. C. Johnson of Pomeroy Iowa, and Frank Christensen of Sioux City, Iowa. Three sisters and one brother preceded her in death. She has lived with her son Stanley ever since the death of her husband in 1926.
