He moved back to Syracuse and to St. Camillus in 2006, after residing at The Greenery Rehabilitation Center for traumatic brain injury in Boston for the majority of his life.
He attended Liverpool High School and Mohawk Valley Community College prior to his move to Boston. Stephen was an avid sports fan who especially loved the Yankees, NY Giants and Syracuse University sports. He cherished time spent with his family, especially holiday gatherings and family dinners, where he was known for his jokes and his sense of humor.
Stephen was a very special person who, despite his handicaps, taught his family kindness, compassion, patience and most importantly, unconditional love. He was a constant reminder that problems are not really problems at all and to be grateful for what we are given. Stephen is predeceased by his parents, Stephen and Florence (Endres) Golden.
He is survived by his four sisters, Suzanne Golden of Syracuse, Denise (Douglas) Nolan of Onondaga Hill, Jane Sadler of Liverpool and Mary (Kenneth) Kraushaar of Liverpool, his aunt, Sister Rosemary Endres of Latham, two nieces, one nephew, five great nieces and nephews as well as many cousins.
